What is BMT Tooling?

BMT, or Base Mount Tooling, is a direct-mount system used in CNC turning centers. It provides a rigid and precise interface between the tool holder and turret. Unlike traditional wedge or bolt-on holders, BMT tools integrate directly into the turret face, minimizing tool overhang and increasing machining stability.

This system is available in two main types:

• Static Tooling: Fixed tool holders used for non-rotating operations such as turning, boring, or facing.

• Live (Driven) Tooling: Powered holders used for operations requiring rotation, including milling, drilling, and tapping.
